Comparable geometry, finally
SC09 is not simply bigger than SC10.
SC09 is larger by enclosed cabin volume and exterior width/depth. SC10 is the longer machine, has a 500 mm open bed, unlimited headroom, and an 11.9 L drawer. For a long or tall cat, SC10 may be the better large-cat fit; for a cat needing a lower step, privacy, or a wider enclosed cabin, SC09 may be better.
“Big” has at least six meanings.
Exterior footprint, usable bed, headroom, entry height, waste capacity, and volume boundary answer different buyer questions. Naturally, product pages often hand consumers one litre number and retreat from the scene.
Exterior body
Determines whether the unit physically fits the room. SC10 is the longest current body; SC09 is wider, deeper, and slightly taller.
Usable floor or bed
Determines whether a cat can stand, dig, turn, and cover. SC10 has a manufacturer-stated 500 mm bed; equivalent internal floor dimensions are not published consistently for SC09.
Headroom
Open models have no ceiling. That matters for tall, upright-postured, or enclosure-averse cats even when their published litre number is lower.
Entry height
Lower is better for many petite, senior, arthritic, or short-legged cats. SC01 is lowest; SC09 is lower than SC10.
Waste drawer
Determines how much transferred waste can be stored, not how much room the cat has. SC10’s 11.9 L drawer is about 1.78 times SC09’s 6.7 L bin.
Volume label
An enclosed-cabin volume and an open litter-area volume are not the same measurement. Ranking them numerically without explaining the boundary is decorative arithmetic.

Smallest practical positioning in the current line, with the easiest step-in but the least convincing geometry for long-bodied cats.
Large-cat fit: Not the first large-cat choice. It is better understood as the compact, low-entry model for smaller cats and constrained spaces.

Long or large cats may fit the weight range while still feeling cramped.

SC02
The line’s middle-size enclosed drum: more usable than SC01 for many cats, but clearly below SC09 and SC10 for maximum movement space.
Large-cat fit: A middle-size option, not the default large-cat recommendation. Long-bodied or approximately 20 lb cats should be measured against the real opening and interior rather than the weight claim.

Open tray; no comparable litre volume confirmed
SC03
Open and low, but not automatically “large.” Its advantage is absence of a roof, not independently measured turning space.
Large-cat fit: Potentially useful for enclosure-averse cats, but not proven as the roomiest large-cat choice. Bed length, rake clearance, posture, and cat acceptance need direct verification.

SC09
Bigger as an enclosed cabin, not bigger in every useful dimension. SC09 wins width, depth, privacy, and lower entry; SC10 wins length, open headroom, and drawer capacity.
Large-cat fit: Strong for large cats that prefer an enclosed cabin, need a lower entry, and fit its doorway and turning geometry. It is not automatically better than SC10 for long or tall cats.

SC10
SC10 is plausibly the more usable “big cat” machine for length, posture freedom, and multi-cat drawer capacity. SC09 remains the larger enclosed cabin. Neither single litre number settles the decision.
Large-cat fit: Often the stronger candidate for long, tall, or enclosure-averse cats because it is longer and has no roof. SC09 may still be better for cats needing a lower step, a wider enclosed stance, privacy, or stronger odor containment.
